Jacoulot Fine De Bourgogne L'Authentique (1L)
Jacoulot Fine de Bourgogne L'Authentique is a traditional Burgundian grape spirit that highlights the rich, vinous side of Fine de Bourgogne while maintaining the polish and elegance Maison Jacoulot is known for. Unlike Marc de Bourgogne, which is distilled from pomace, Fine de Bourgogne is distilled directly from wine, giving it a softer, more refined texture and a clearer expression of fruit.
L’Authentique shows a beautifully mature profile with aromas of baked orchard fruit, dried apricot, honey, vanilla, toasted almond, orange peel, and baking spice layered alongside subtle earthy notes of tobacco and cedar. On the palate, it’s rounded and silky with flavors of poached pear, caramelized apple, roasted nuts, cocoa, and gentle oak spice unfolding gradually through a long finish.
The extended aging smooths the spirit considerably while still preserving a distinctly Burgundian character rooted in fruit, earth, and freshness rather than overt sweetness. The oak influence is integrated and restrained, supporting the spirit without dominating it.
There’s a warmth and texture here that will appeal to Cognac and Armagnac drinkers, but Fine de Bourgogne carries its own personality: slightly more vinous, a touch earthier, and often more subtle in its aromatics.
Excellent neat after dinner, especially with a little time in the glass to allow the spice and fruit notes to fully open.
