Le Macchiole Bolgheri Rosso 2023 (750ml)
Le Macchiole was founded in the early 80's by Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli in Bolgheri, the best area for Bordeaux-blend Super Tuscan wines. First bottled in 2004, their Bolgheri Rosso is the purest and most unadulterated expression of Bolgheri for Le Macchiole. It is also the only red wine in their lineup that is a blend of multiple varieties. The blend is made from 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah. You'll find notes of Blackberry, Black Cherry, Cedar, and a hint of Fresh Herbs, with velvety tannins and a freshness that compliments its complexity. Enjoy with ribs, bolognese, or a full flavor cheese board. - Zack Whitaker (Pogo's Sommelier)
