“Carina” is a constellation representing the hull of the Argo Navis sailing westward between the spring and fall equinoxes. Our Carina Rose comes from young vines of Pinot Noir and Grenache, planted on the far Sonoma Coast. The vines find harmony here, floating in between the opposing pulls of the ocean and stars. The Grenache in the blend hails from the southern end of the Sonoma Coast AVA, while the Pinot Noir comes from our very own Marine Layer Vineyard in Sebastopol Hills. All fruit harvested by hand at night/first light.
Tasting Notes: Cherry blossom and wild strawberry shortcake pop from the glass, while little surprises of watermelon rind and white nectarine keep you on your toes. On the palate, juicy watermelon meets crisp pink pearl apple, all lifted by a bright, playful acidity. A hint of stony minerality adds just enough edge, and the finish… well, it just keeps going and going, daring you to take sip after sip without looking back.
